JULY 2005

As I was sitting at my CD release last night waiting to go on stage I was reading my bible. There were two specific texts I wanted to share here. The first is found in Psalms 145:13 "...The Lord is faithful in all he says; he is gracious in all he does". It suddenly occurred to me that I didn't need to be stressed or nervous. God had helped me write these songs, God had told me to make the CD; I knew God would be faithful to complete what he started with me. There is something totally awesome about knowing that, no matter how impossible it seems, if God has asked you to do something He will make it happen. I was sitting there last night, not knowing how I was going to sell CD's and BAM it hit me; I don't have to know. I just have to trust God to be faithful to fulfill his promise!

The second text I was meditating on is found in the middle of a prayer. Paul was praying that the Ephesians would be empowered by the Spirit. Ephesians 3:16 "I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he would give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit." God has unlimited resources at his disposal and he is glad to share them with us through the Holy Spirit! As the nerves started to overwhelm me last night I began to realize that God could give me inner strength, all I had to do was ask. so, I asked. As always, God was faithful to His word and gave me that inner strength; God is good! I think the best part about the whole evening, was that I had fun!!! That caught me by surprise. I haven't done a lot of concerts before, okay lets be real here, last night was my first, and I wasn't sure I would enjoy it. However, again, I found enjoyment in keeping true to God's plan for my life.

I pray that you will "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5,6. I pray that in following Him you find joy and peace.
